Sounds like I'm talking about Silent Hill, right? Well, I'm not. I'm talking about the town I live in. We've had so many fires that the smoke is just laying about like some stubborn fog. It is kind of odd to walk outside and see this and smell the flames in the air.
Fires, smoke, and burning. I don't think anyone's been hurt yet...
But it is that season of the year.
~~X~~
This is when you need those silver-lined clouds, yes? To bring the rain?
ReplyDelete...That's not what I meant when I was talking about a silver lining, but it wouldn't hurt. Geez, these fires are getting out of hand. Thankfully, I don't think anyone's been hurt yet, but the smoke was annoying.
ReplyDeleteIs it sad I'm kind of hoping that it's still all smokey like this on Monday, when the sirens go off? It'd amuse the hell out of me.
ReplyDeleteBut yes, some rain would be nice.
The fires, the fires. There's been just too many of them. Thankfully nowhere too close to him.
~~X~~
There was one close to my sister's friend's place though. He and his family are okay, but it was a bit tense.
ReplyDeleteObviously not. I was attempting to find a silver lining in the situation - with a joke.
ReplyDeleteThe construct is known to cause fires, yes?
Ah, sorry. Ultimate downside of just text.
ReplyDeleteThat's one of the main things associated with him along with trees and mutilation, yes.
Then I hope for your both sakes it truly is just the season.
ReplyDeleteSame here... It's normally dry, but fires are new...
ReplyDeleteUsually we don't get fires until the middle of summer, when we're having a drought and someone ignores the Burn Ban.
ReplyDeleteI suppose I'm lucky there hasn't been any fires close to me. I'm pretty darn close to one of the areas with the most trees. Great place to take a walk though, in that little forest.
I may have to put on my clunkers and go exploring sometime soon, it's been a while.
~~X~~
...Ya sure that's wise?
ReplyDeleteI'll be fine.
ReplyDeleteHe said so.
~~X~~
I wouldn't always trust what he syas. He's yet to lie to any of us here. But there's a first time for everything.
ReplyDeleteI'd not be surprised if he wanted you to go to the forest.
Oh, I know. I take everything he says to me with a grain of salt. I listen to my instinct more than I do him - and that's never lead me astray.
ReplyDeleteOn the bright side, I can tell when he's close. Can't tell if something else is close, but my instinct should warn me if things are about to go wrong.
But, I don't think I'll go exploring anytime soon. I'm not fond of the heat and am not going to walk through these kind of neighborhoods in the dark to get to and from the forest-area.

No kidding. For a city in the middle in the middle of fucking nowhere, we get a lot of gang violence.
ReplyDeleteThere's a hole in the world like a great black pit
ReplyDeleteand the vermin of the world inhabit it
and its morals aren't worth what a pig could spit
and it goes by the name of (CENSORED).

ROFL. As much as I like the movie and Johnny's voice, it does NOT fit a regular musical like that. It works better with a rock opera like Repo!... That would have made that movie just that much more awesome, actually.
ReplyDeleteNo, I don't think that's quite right. I think Johnny's voice fit in quite well in an odd sort of way. It fit his character to have a voice like that, especially when compared next to sweeter voices like what's-his-face and Joanna's.
ReplyDeleteHe sounded... like the demon barber of fleet street. ;)
